The BEST All-Inclusive Resort You Will Ever Visit
I’ve stayed at many different hotels and resorts and I am here to share one of the BEST ones I have ever been to. Ever since I took this trip I cannot stop recommending it and sharing it because this is how every resort should make you feel. I am eager and excited to go back, the question is not if but when. So let’s get into what resort it is and why it’s #1 on my list.
The resort I am highlighting in this post is Unico 20 87, it is located in Rivera Maya, Mexico. This is an Adults-Only All-Inclusive Resort that includes way more than the average all-inclusive resort does. They have what is known as unlimited inclusions. This means in addition to the resort inclusions were all used to at all-inclusive resorts this resort adds even more inclusions more for your money. Some of the additional inclusions include:
- Select Spa services
- Select tours & adventures
- Beauty salon services
- 24 HR room service
- A personal host you can contact for all your needs and personalization’s
- Pillow Menu ( Pick your preference for optimal comfort during your trip)
- Aromatherapy Menu
- Customized in-room minibar and snacks based on your preference

When I first read about all these extra’s I knew immediately I wanted to stay here and experience this new type of 5-star service. Each room booked in this resort either comes with a Balcony accompanied by a private hot tub and a gorgeous view of the entire resort and beach or a room with a swim-up pool. Normally you have to pay extra for these types of rooms, but at this resort, these are the only two options when you step out of the room, can you say luxurious!
Before arriving at the hotel you have the option to customize your room’s personal bar and snack options. They have a form available online where you fill out your preferences and pick out your signature drink you would like delivered to your room every morning. This was the first resort I’ve visited that offers this option and it was well worth it! I have yet to come across another resort that offers these types of customizations.
When you arrive at the airport in Mexico, you can plan for your shuttle service to meet you in advance through the resort’s website. The shuttle will be there on time to pick you up, and they will have a fridge with drinks for you to enjoy during the ride. It takes about 45 minutes to get from the airport to the resort.
Upon arriving at the resort you will be greeted by the friendly staff that will have cold towels for you, and your welcome drinks in the lobby. While you wait for your keys, your personal host (yes I said personal host!!) will introduce themselves and ask you to pick your favorite scent for you to have in your room during your stay. All the scents smelled amazing it was hard to pick just one. Once you have your keys you will be escorted to your room, and the bellman will accompany you to bring your bags up to your new oasis for the next couple of days.
The layout of the rooms is absolutely gorgeous, modern, and open. If you chose the balcony room you’ll be placed on a higher floor with a beautiful view, a place to sit on your terrace, and a personal hot tub that you can request to be made for you with bubbles, flowers, and oils for full relaxation. If you chose the room with the swim-up pool you’ll have two chairs to layout on and a portion of the pool to swim out on, as well as some lounge chairs to enjoy your morning breakfast or coffee.
Unico 20 87 is a modernized hotel so they utilize an app during your stay so you can make requests for room service, cleaning service, setting up the hot tub while you’re out, make reservations, checking out the the daily activities, and more. You will also have the option to contact your personal host for all your needs throughout your stay.
The resort has 5 restaurants :
Mi Carisa – A romantic restaurant with an intimate setting and delicious food options. This was one of my favorite restaurants at the resort, the pasta tasted so fresh and flavorful. They are open for breakfast and dinner.
Cueva Siete – Another beautiful restaurant, the menu is focused on authentic Mexican cuisine. Their menu includes tacos, traditional Mexican dishes, and desserts. They are only open for dinner.
Mura House – A Japanese cuisine offering traditional foods filled with flavor. This was another one of my favorite restaurants, their sushi rolls were delicious! They are only open for dinner.
20.87 Restaurant – This is the resorts one stop food spot, where you can enjoy every meal daily if you choose. This was my go-to breakfast spot while I was staying at the resort. The food tasted so fresh, and the pancake and omelette station were a treat. Each morning I would serve myself some fresh fruit, order my omelet, pour myself some green juice with celery and cucumber from the juice bar (so refreshing), and start the day overlooking the beach in this beautiful venue. As I mentioned they are open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
Inez Café – This is a café for quick meals on the go. The menu includes fresh juices, coffee, tea, and baked goods, which are served in the morning while the menu transitions to sandwiches, paninis, and meal-sized salads for lunch and dinner.
Lastly, in efforts to include all diets in their menus, the resort has incorporated Flora. These are plant-based and vegan menu selections that are available at each restaurant that I mentioned above.

Now let’s talk bars :
Unico 20 87 currently has five bars, two swim-up bars so you can enjoy your drinks poolside, they also have servers that will bring your drinks and food to your lounge chairs and cabanas. While you’re sitting by the pool soaking up the sun, enjoy some live entertainment and DJs.
Palmera Lounge – Inspired by Cuban high energy clubs in the ’40s this lounge has live entertainment, a cigar bar, and expertly crafted cocktails inspired by Cuban culture.
Bar Balam – A day through night bar, located in the hotel lobby. Enjoy a classic cocktail from the Mexican tradition.
La Botella – Is a wine store where you can enjoy a curated selection of red, white, and sparkling wines.
The resort is located on a beachfront, whether you want to enjoy a day by the pool or layout on a beach chair while admiring the ocean view you will have that option at Unico 20 87. ThereAdditionally, the resort has a gym on-site, as well as a spa with a menu of spa services to take your relaxation to the next level. They offer a selection of classes and activities, including yoga, wine and art, mixology masterclasses, and a custom beer garden.
Every summer the resort hosts Summer Superbia. This is a fun way to enjoy your summer vacation with plenty of additional activities to take advantage of during your stay. From private cooking and mixology classes to curated poolside events, you’ll be immersed in all the culture has to offer while surrounded by exquisite art pieces designed by local artisans. This year's Summer Superbia starts on July 12th, 2021 – August 22nd, 2021.
